Lord John Grey gains freedom in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 17

We end January in the Outlander Book Club with some good news for John. He manages to gain freedom in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 17.

The chapter opens with John still a captive, but that won’t be the case for long. The good thing about having Dottie and Denzell in the camp, they will both make sure John gains his freedom. They won’t want him to end up in the hands of George Washington.

It is a risky move for Dottie and Denzell. However, it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to pin anything on the two of them. That is as long as they can lie. It’s not like John is going to tell anyone anything.

The problem for John is that he’s now alone in the forest. Will he be able to survive?

This chapter is more about plot development rather than foreshadowing. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

What about the chapter being used in the adaptation? There is certainly a chance that it could be used, but it’s hard to say. I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 17.
