Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Ian thinking about his mother. He wants to know if Quakers believe in Heaven. Rachel admits that since nobody has come back to say, it’s impossible to say if there is a Heaven. I love her honesty. She also wants to know why Ian is worrying about that, and he admits that it’s for his mother.

Ian is sad that Rachel won’t get to meet Jenny. Jenny would have liked her. Oh, if only he knew right now.

The chapter then moves on to why Rachel chose to travel with Ian and not her brother. She wants Ian to open up to her, and this is the best way to do that. Ian does open up, although he’s scared to. He shares about Emily, about Bree, Roger, and Stephen Bonnet, and about the other women he’s slept with.

Rachel doesn’t want all the details, although Ian is willing to share. What she wants is for him to admit if there is a woman she meets that Ian slept with. This is something that Ian can agree to.

He also tells Rachel that he may not be able to have children. He shares that Emily kicked him out of her house because of his inability to give her a child. Claire thinks that it could just be Emily but it could be an Ian problem. This could have caused Rachel to run away, but she loves Ian and still wants to be with him.
