Could Bree and Roger be in the Outlander prequel?
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is officially happening. Which characters could return for the Outlander prequel? Could we see Bree and Roger?
When announcing Outlander Season 8 would happen and be the last, STARZ also confirmed that the Outlander prequel was happening. Titled Blood of My Blood, the series will focus on another Fraser love story.
Instead of Claire and Jamie, we’re heading further back in time. This story will be about Ellen and Brian’s love story, and we’re sure to see some returning characters. The characters will likely be played by other actors, but we’re sure to see the likes of Colum, Dougal, and Murtagh return.
What about some of the other characters in Outlander? What about Brianna and Roger MacKenzie?
Bree and Roger probably won’t be in the Outlander prequel
Look, never say ever, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see Bree and Roger return. The prequel is set pre-Outlander. Bree and Roger didn’t know anything about time travel until 1968 and when they traveled through time, they went to 1766.
Roger is the one to travel back the furthest. He did end up in 1737. This is where we could see Roger in the story in some way. We could see Brian and Roger meet in the 1730s, and maybe that’s what starts the story for Brian. Maybe he decides to tell Roger the tale.
While we’ve never heard of Bree and Roger going further into the past, it’s not impossible. It’s just unlikely.
There is a way to bring both Bree and Roger into the series. Could they be the ones telling the story to their children or their grandchildren? Maybe they’re sharing the story that they know, in the way that the original two Outlander books were Claire narrating the story to Bree and Roger during the second book.
