We get a little more information about William in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 14

It’s been some time since we caught up with where William is in Outlander Book 8. The last we saw of him, he had his pants down and looked like he’d been robbed.

We get a little bit of backstory for the man in this latest chapter. It’s time to find out what happened after Saratoga and how his personal connections get him everywhere. This is important as he trusted these personal connections. They are through his stepfather, who was keeping a huge lie from him.

There is some time to find out where William’s head is in the present day. We learn a little more about the law of the time, but that doesn’t mean William feels right about his title. That has to wait as John and Hal may be in some trouble.

The chapter certainly foreshadows things for Captain Richardson. I think it also foreshadows things to come for William in later chapters. I’ll get to those points in the foreshadowing section.

What about the adaptation? I do expect we’ll see some of this chapter used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 14.
