Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter is more about plot development more than anything else. I think the one thing we see is how Hal is warming up to Claire. After all, she did save Henry’s life and now his own.

I think we also see the way that John can be saved. By taking John to George Washington, Jamie will come across the situation eventually. This could offer everyone enough time to find a way to save John from death. Plus, by taking John to George Washington, there’s less of a chance of him being killed. He could likely be ransomed.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I just can’t tell if there will be enough time to tell all the stories in the Outlander TV series. It’s hard to say if all of these storylines can play out. I have a feeling that the show is going to stick to the main characters we’ve already come to know and love, meaning that John and Hal’s storylines may be reduced considerably from the books.

After all, there is still William’s storyline. He’s not been in the last few chapters. We’ve also not caught up with Bree and Roger yet.

The benefit of this chapter is that it’s short. A lot of the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapters are on the short side. This makes it a little easier to incorporate them into the show. I would love to see them, but only if there’s enough time. Otherwise, there are more important storylines to cover instead.
