Who is with Bree while she gives birth in the Outlander Season 7 teaser?
The Outlander Season 7 teaser clearly shows Brianna giving birth. There is a man behind her with his hand on her shoulder, but is this Jamie or Roger?
There are a few things we’re expecting to see in Outlander Season 7. One of those is the birth of Bree and Roger’s second child, Mandy. It looks like this is going to happen based on one short clip in the Outlander Season 7 teaser.
If you jump to around 49 seconds, you’ll see Brianna seems to be giving birth. We saw her using a birthing stool in Outlander Season 4, so it’s likely that she’d give birth the same way the second time.
What is curious is the man behind her. Someone has his hand on Bree’s shoulder, but we don’t see a face. Who is the man in the room?
Is Outlander Season 7 making up for Jamie not being there for Jem?
In the Outlander books, Jamie is there for the birth of his grandson. It’s Jamie and Claire who do it all, with Claire helping with the delivery and Jamie there as support for his daughter. It’s a touching moment, and I know there were a lot of fans who were disappointed and angry that this scene wasn’t used in the TV series.
Personally, it didn’t bother me. I didn’t get the same reactions to reading the book as many others did, but I can understand the disappointment in not using it.
Outlander Season 7 could be a way to make up for this. It’s possible that Jamie will be there for Mandy’s birth. Maybe Bree will have the fears that she will die in childbirth, and Jamie is there as the support for his daughter.
It certainly looks like Jamie based on the two knives on his right hip. If you look at a few other images of Jamie in the past, those knives are there. The waistcoat over the shirt also looks a little like the one Jamie wears instead of Roger.
This doesn’t mean Roger won’t be there. In the books, he wasn’t there for the birth of his son but is there for the birth of Mandy. We could certainly see that play out in the same way but with Jamie there to make up for the lack of him at Jem’s birth.
