Jamie meets George Washington in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 10

We catch up with Jamie in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 10. The last we saw him, he agreed to go with Dan Morgan to see a friend. Now we find out that friend was George Washington.

Jamie has a chance to catch up with everything that has been going on. This leads to fear as Claire is in Philadelphia, a presumed Loyalist, and without Lord John Grey’s protection. It’s clear in this moment that Jamie still loves his wife, and he wants to get there to protect her.

Washington has other plans for Jamie. He wants Jamie to take over command, and Jamie can’t really say no. He does ask for some time to deal with the urgent matter in Philadelphia, though.

There is certainly some foreshadowing in this chapter. It all comes up when Jamie thinks about the command that he is given. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

Will this chapter be used in the TV series, though? If it is, there will need to be some changes, and I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 10.
