Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter foreshadows trouble for John and Jamie. They’re not back yet, and Claire is worried. Of course, we know where both of them are. Jamie is making his way back to Claire, and John has been taken captive. Will the letters come back to haunt Claire when there’s a ransom letter for Lord John Grey—that is if there’s a letter to ransom him!

The rest of this is more of plot development. We need to see Hal get to know Claire and some sort of bond to be forged between them. Of course, saving his life is the way to do that. Hal will be able to smooth things over when the time comes.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

Will the chapter be used in the TV series? I doubt it will be used in Outlander Season 7, but it could be used in Season 8 if that happens. I’m in two minds about whether everything with Hal will be used. It all depends on whether everything with John being taken will be used. This is all about time available for each of the individual storylines.

There isn’t that much time in the show to tell the stories. This leads to some storylines being skipped over, and I do wonder if this is going to be one of them.
