Claire meets Lord John Grey’s brother in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 6

It was only a matter of time before Claire would finally meet Hal Grey. That happens in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 6.

What’s interesting is that she doesn’t realize it’s Hal who wants to see John in the first place. Wouldn’t she have heard John call him the Duke of Pardloe at any point? Maybe they didn’t have those sorts of conversations around each other, but Claire isn’t one for keeping her nose out of other people’s business.

I do love how she goes in an attempt to protect John, though. They may not be legally married now, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about the man. This is the man who protected her from the British Army the minute they found out Jamie was dead and Captain Richardson was after her.

The chapter certainly foreshadows a few things. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

Will it be used in the TV series, though? That bit I’m not 100% certain about, and I’ll get to why that is in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 6.
