Will Bree and Roger be separated in Outlander Season 7?
Outlander Season 7 will be here in the summer, and we have a lot of questions about what to expect. Will Bree and Roger be separated this season?
One of the ways drama is created in the Outlander books and show is through separating couples. Just look at the fourth season, which saw Bree and Roger apart more than they were together. Every season has seen Claire and Jamie separated for at least one episode.
What about Outlander Season 7? We’ve looked at how Claire and Jamie could be separated, but what about Roger and Brianna? Is there a chance trouble will come for them? The last we saw them, they were on the road for Roger’s minister training, but that is just the start of the season.
Roger and Bree may end up separated in Outlander Season 7
We’re looking at a couple of the books to get an idea of what to expect in Season 7. For this post, we’re looking at An Echo in the Bone and Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, so if you haven’t read those books, there will be spoilers in this post.
The seventh book sees Roger and Brianna together for much of it. However, they do have to leave Claire and Jamie. It turns out their second child has a heart problem that needs 20th century medicine so the MacKenzies need to go through the stones to seek help from Joe Abernathy.
We pick up with them in the 1980s at Lallybroch. Things seem to be good, but there’s a threat coming for them. By the end of the seventh book, Roger goes back through the stones believing that Jemmy has been taken and Bree is left in the 20th century with Mandy.
The eighth book is mostly about Roger’s travel through the past while Bree deals with the threat in her present time. They’re reunited by the end, but it takes time and struggle.
It’s unclear just how much of Written in My Own Heart’s Blood is going to be used in Outlander Season 7, but we get a sense that we could see some of it. After all, there are characters in the eighth book that have been cast (or more like brought back as they’re characters from the first book) for Season 7. So, there are strong chances we’ll see Bree and Roger separated for some time.
