Jenny wants to learn more about Rachel in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 5

We head back to John’s house for part of Outlander Book 8, Chapter 5. The other part is spent with William.

The chapter starts with the women at John’s house. This gives Jenny a chance to learn more about Rachel, and it’s clear that Claire likes both Rachel and Denny.

She does have time to think about Dottie and Henry, as well. We’re reminded of their potential relationships in this chapter. It’s going to be interesting to see how some of those relationships play out.

After that, the chapter moves on to William. He is struggling with everything that is going on in his head, and I’m not that surprised. William gets far too much flack, but he’s just learned the truth about his parentage. There’s a grieving process of this, and right now, he’s understandably very angry.

I hope to see at least some of this chapter used in the TV series, and I’ll get to that in the adaptation section of this post. As for foreshadowing, I see a little bit of it within the conversations of Jenny and Claire.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 5.
