Jamie learns the full truth from Lord John in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 4

At the end of An Echo in the Bone, Jamie learned that John had carnal knowledge of Claire. Outlander Book 8, Chapter 4 brings us the aftermath.

If you thought Jamie was a little too calm, you wouldn’t be alone. Why did he not seem that bothered about why John and Claire had slept together? As I’ve mentioned before, I do think that if it was just the once, Jamie would have understood considering the full situation.

There were other factors that sent Jamie over the edge. John was very lucky to have rebels show up, even though that puts John in a dangerous situation, too. Is it better with the dangerous situation or potentially being killed by an angry Jamie?

This chapter certainly pushes the plot forward. There’s not that much in the way of foreshadowing, though. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I do fully expect to see this chapter play out in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 4.
