Rachel accepts Ian for who he is in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 103
We head back to Ian and Rachel as we end Outlander Book 7. This is a chance to see where their relationship is going in the eighth book.
We learn what’s going on in the Colonies right now. The war is still going, but the British are leaving Philadelphia. They need to reinforce New York, and that’s where they’re heading. Ian is getting all the information from Fergus, and we have no reason to doubt him.
However, there is a discussion of trust in this chapter. Randall-Isaacs’s name comes up, and I’ll admit I’m surprised by that. His name also came up a couple of chapters ago, but with Lord John Grey in mind. That made sense, but why does his name come up here? It’s not like he’s been mentioned to or spotted by Ian or Rachel recently.
The chapter certainly foreshadows things to come. It’s also all about plot development. I’ll get to all of that in the foreshadowing section.
As for the adaptation, I want to see this chapter play out in Outlander Season 7. We need to see it play out.
Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 103.
