William turns to Claire for some answers in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 102
With Jamie and John gone, William turns to the only person he can for answers. He turns to Claire in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 102.
There are a few things I love about this chapter. The first is that William trusts Claire for answers. He knows that she must have known the truth, and he wants to find out just how Geneva and Jamie were together. Does that mean the two were messing around while Geneva was married to the man William thought was his father?
Another bit I love is how Claire offers him consistency. Up to this point, Claire hasn’t really liked William calling her Mother Claire, but now she says that it’s alright for him to keep calling her that. Is that because she’s actually his stepmother and the truth it out? Is it because Bree is his half-sister? Is it just that he needs consistency? I love that we see this side of Claire in this moment.
There is certainly foreshadowing for this storyline in the chapter for the next book. We also see some plot development at the very end.
I want to see this chapter play out in the series. I need to see this side of Claire, and I’ll explain that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 102.
