On the 24th day of Claire-mas, we take a look at the reasons fans of Outlander love Claire Fraser. And it’s not just because she’s with Jamie!

There are many reasons Outlander fans love Claire. Some want to be her because they want Jamie Fraser, but there are many great reasons to love Claire as her own person.

For me, I love Claire’s resilience. Many would have panicked in the past. They wouldn’t have been able to deal with time travel, and they may not have had any skills that would have allowed them to survive in the past. Claire had some basics, but she wasn’t perfect. She couldn’t lie that well, and it was clear she was in danger from all sides at one point.

That didn’t stop her from focusing her efforts on surviving. She didn’t just try to escape Castle Leoch, but worked with what she knew to gain trust. We then saw her put herself in dangerous situations to survive or to save those she loved.

I took to Facebook and Twitter to ask fans why they love Claire Fraser. Here’s a look at all the reasons Outlander fans love her.

There are no reasonings behind people’s love for Claire. That’s not really what I asked. I just wanted to know what personality traits Claire has for people to fall in love with.

Here are the reasons fans gave me:

• She’s a strong woman
• She’s loyal
• She’s courageous
• She’s intelligent
• She’s a passionate woman
• Her love for family and humanity
• Her sense of humor
• That she loves Jamie so fiercely

Of course, there are fans who think she is a little careless, but doesn’t that make her such a well-rounded character? Nobody is perfect, and sometimes, Claire’s flaws are what we fall in love with. At one point, her carelessness is even linked to her loyalty to Frank.
