Claire and Jamie both think about death in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 94

Despite being separated still, Claire and Jamie find themselves thinking about death in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 94.

We get the confirmation that Jamie and Jenny are very much alive. They are on the new ship, heading to Charleston instead of New York. It will mean it takes longer to get to Claire, and right now, all Jamie seems to think about is Claire.

Meanwhile, Claire has a moment of doubt. She contemplates taking her own life so that she can be with Jamie. That’s all she wants. She doesn’t want to live without him. She’s already done it once.

I guess this chapter is why the ether storyline in Outlander Season 6 didn’t bother me that much. She has considered taking her own life. Why wouldn’t she consider finding a way to escape trauma if she had it on hand? Plenty of doctors have used drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. But that’s for another post. This is all about the chapter at hand.

There is certainly some foreshadowing in this chapter. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

As for the adaptation, I’m not sure if we’ll see it. A lot of this is internalized, so it would have to be included in a way that allows Claire or Jamie to speak their thoughts. I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 94.
