Jenny is excited to gain some independence in France in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 92

We head back to the past in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 92. We’re in France with Jenny and Jamie, and there’s a chance to know what Jenny is feeling.

This chapter is from Jamie’s point of view, but we get to see so much of Jenny’s personality shine through. I love her excitement as she uses her French and gains some independence. For me, this speaks a lot of what life for women was like in small areas in the past.

While Jenny was well-taught and raised speaking different languages, she was still a woman of her time. She was stuck in a village, and now she has the chance to branch out. It’s no wonder that she’s somewhat excited about traveling to the Colonies.

Their trip is cut short, though. What we don’t realize at the time is that missing the ship was a good thing for both of them. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I do expect this chapter to be used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on why and why it will be important in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 92.
