Outlander Book Club: An Echo in the Bone Chapter 89 breakdown

Claire receives letters from Jamie in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 89

Claire manages to save Henry Grey’s life at the start of Outlander Book 7, Chapter 89. From there, she can catch up with what’s going on with Jamie.

While the two are separated, they are always thinking of each other. We can see that in the letters that Jamie writes Claire and in the thoughts we hear Claire having.  They don’t want to be separated any more than they need to, but that doesn’t mean they sit and pine over each other. They will get on with their own things.

For Claire, it’s her medicine. She has helped save Lord John Grey’s nephew’s life. That’s the way it seems, anyway. Of course, something could go wrong, but Claire seems pretty confident that Henry will live. This could mean he gets to marry Mercy, who he can see is in love with Henry.

There is certainly some foreshadowing in this chapter. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

As for the adaptation, I’m not sure we’ll get it. If we do, it’s not going to be written exactly, especially when it comes to the letters. I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.
