Claire makes it back to America in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 87

Claire and Ian make it back to America in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 87. It’s time for Claire to pay a visit to Lord John Grey.

It all starts with Claire heading to Fergus and Marsali. After all, Henri-Christian is the reason she has come back to America without Jamie right away. She needs to see how serious Henri-Christian’s situation is and figure out what she needs to get for surgery on him.

That’s what leads her to Lord John Grey. She needs to get the right equipment, and it’s Lord John Grey who can help. However, he needs a favor, too. Claire can’t say no to another person in need of her surgical skills. It’s all falling into place for Claire to be where she’s needed.

There is also some foreshadowing in this chapter when it comes to Claire’s thoughts as she gets to Philadelphia. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

What about adaptation? I expect to see at least some of this chapter used for the TV series. I hope to see all of it, but it’s the Lord John Grey parts that I see used the most. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
