Outlander Book Club: An Echo in the Bone Chapter 85 breakdown

We kick start Part 7 heading back to Bree and Roger in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 85

As we start a new part, we head back to the 20th century. We pick up with Bree and Roger unsure about Buck in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 85.

For those who have forgotten, the last we saw, Buck had turned up in the 20th century. Now we find out why he’s there and what he’s up to. His he a threat to the MacKenzies? How long has he been in the 20th century? What’s going to happen next?

The chapter doesn’t take too long to get into the details. While Bree and Roger try to figure out whether Buck can be trusted, we learn that there is another threat to the MacKenzies. Reading the books, the threat was always there. We could always sense it, and it was never Buck, right?

This chapter certainly foreshadows a few things for Buck and for Jem. I’ll get to those parts in the foreshadowing section.

What about the development of the series? I fully expect to see this chapter used in the TV series, and I’ll get to why that is in the adaptation section.
