Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter doesn’t foreshadow all that much. I guess it offers us a sign that Jenny is always going to be welcoming to the women in Young Ian’s life. She trusts her son’s judgment in this. But part of me always felt that she would be like this. She isn’t a narrow-minded woman.

This chapter is more focused on a bit of closure for Young Ian. He needed acceptance from his mother without even fully realizing it, and that’s what this chapter offered.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I want to see this chapter used in the TV series, especially as we get the chapters with Jenny taking her fear and anger out on Claire. I want to see this side of Jenny that shows us she’s just a terrified wife.

I also want to see this sweet moment between Jenny and Young Ian. It’s something that we haven’t seen in the series, and I don’t even think there have been moments in the books up to this point. This is a chance to show us who Jenny really is and that she does have a lot of heart. She’s just stubborn, and that’s even worse when she’s scared. However, she does accept Young Ian for who he is, and this is a moment we need in the series.
