Jenny begs Jamie for Claire to help Ian in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 81

The chapter starts with Jamie and Ian spending some quality time together. However, Outlander Book 7, Chapter 81 ends with Jenny begging Jamie to get Claire to help.

This is a short chapter that offers Jamie and Ian some time together. I’ve missed these moments throughout the course of the previous books. There was such a special bond between the brothers-in-law, and I would have loved more time with them together.

However, the important part of the chapter is at the end. Jenny is understandably angry. Claire is trying to stay out of the way, but Jenny needs someone to lash out on. The easiest person is Claire, who Jenny is sure can help Ian.

Jamie attempts to get through to his sister, but it is of no use. This is certainly a chapter that we should see play out in the TV series, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

I don’t see that much in the way of foreshadowing, though. This chapter is more about plot development of what’s to come for Ian and the whole Murray family.
