Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly sets things up for Michael going to France in his short story with Joanie. There’s also foreshadowing of things that are to come. Ian is going to die, and Jenny has nothing left at Lallybroch for her. We get a small amount of foreshadowing in this chapter of what’s to come with Jenny. She and Claire will have time to mend fences, but it’s not going to be easy.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. We know that Jenny is back, but that she won’t be played by Laura Donnelly. This allows this whole chapter to play out, with Claire opening up about being a time traveler and Jenny accusing Claire of not helping Ian to spite Jenny. It’s an important chapter, so I’m glad that it’s likely to be used.

I hope we get to meet Michael. If we don’t, then I can understand that. There is a way to bring out Claire being a time traveler in another way, even if it’s just a mention that Michael will be going to France. The most important person to learn about Claire’s ability is Jenny for the rest of the chapter to play out.
