Joanie comes to find Jamie with a request in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 79. Can Jamie help her follow her own dreams and needs?

We start off with some quality time between Jamie and Claire. They head to the cave where Jamie spent a lot of time alone before Ardsmuir. It’s time for Claire to see just what Jamie lived like for that time.

While experiencing that, Joanie comes to see Jamie. She doesn’t want others to overhear, but she is fine with Claire knowing. I’m curious about this, and I’ll break this down in a bit.

The chapter itself sets up the plot development for the next few chapters. I think it also helps to set up some of the storyline for one of the short stories involving Joanie and Michael. There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing in the chapter.

I fully expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
