Outlander Season 4, Episode 6, “Blood of My Blood”

Family isn’t all about blood. That’s something Outlander teaches up early on. We have Frank who raises Brianna as his own. Then there’s Jamie who takes in Fergus. And in Season 3, Lord John agrees to raise Jamie’s son, William.

John and William show up in Season 4, Episode 6. In fact, John gets very sick with the measles, and Jamie has to get William away. They end up running into a spot of trouble with neighboring Cherokee tribesmen, but Jamie protects his son and creates harmony once again.

Outlander Season 5, Episode 12, “Never My Love”

This is a hard episode to watch. It’s the one where Claire has been abducted by Lionel Brown and uses her dreamscape to escape everything that’s happening to her. It’s a Thanksgiving meal that she’s picturing.

Bree and Roger aren’t there yet but should be on their way. It’s in the 1960s, and we get to see the family come together, including Murtagh, who had died earlier in the season. This is after Bree and Roger have left in the real timeline, so Claire thinks she’s never going to see that happen and it plays out in the dreamscape.

There are some beautiful reminders of past episodes in this episode. Plus, we get to see the family celebrate Thanksgiving, which I can’t recall happening in the books.
