Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter doesn’t foreshadow too much. It’s all about plot development to get Jamie and Claire back on their journey to Scotland. However, there’s still that element of foreshadowing of William finding out the truth. It’s a small bit, but it all comes down to Jamie not wanting to hide himself this time. He just watches William leave.

All it takes is a glance. William figures it all out. Right now, William wants to see Lord John Grey, but that’s not the case when he figures out the truth and what people kept from him all those years.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I would like to see the chapter used. I want to see Jamie’s relief as William heads away from danger. And I do suspect that we will see this. I suspect that we’ll see the battle part of An Echo in the Bone as it does give us that storyline of father and son on the opposite sides of battle, a similar echo to Murtagh vs. Jamie in Outlander Season 5.

This chapter also gives us the reason Claire and Jamie are able to get back to Scotland. Not that we need it. They were supposed to be on their way to Scotland in the first place! However, I think we need these battles from American history to highlight where we are in the time period within the story.
