Outlander Season 7 premiere: Does the STARZ schedule hint at a spring start?

All eyes are on when Outlander Season 7 could premiere. STARZ will need to find an opening in the schedule, but does that mean a spring start?

We are going to start this post with a statement: this is all speculation. We’re simply looking at the STARZ schedule already planned and the shows the network still has on the list to air. These shows are going to affect when Outlander Season 7 will premiere.

Something we still believe will happen is that Season 7 will be split in two. We’ve not seen STARZ run 16 episodes back to back before, so it would make sense to bring the first eight episodes as soon as possible. This is possible since the series is filming the second set of eight episodes right now.

Now it’s all whether there’s a chance those eight episodes could arrive soon. Are we looking at the beginning of the year, or are we actually looking at spring 2023?

Outlander Season 7 is affected by other STARZ shows

Like other premium cable networks, STARZ only puts on one or two original shows at a time. There may be three if two of the shows are 30-minute shows. There aren’t many of them to come, except Men in Kilts Season 2, which is also going to be affected by the shows available.

STARZ has a lot of shows that have already wrapped filming in full. Many of them have even completed or have nearly completed production. These include Dangerous Liaisons, Power Book II: Ghost, and Heels.

Dangerous Liaisons already has a premiere date. It premiered on Sunday, and now the episodes will air weekly. This show is going to take us to the end of the year, with the finale airing on Christmas Day. After that, STARZ may look at some of the other big hitters it already has ready. If the next show begins On Dec. 31, we’re looking at a run through February or early March.

So, there is a chance we could see Outlander Season 7 premiere in March, but there are other shows that STARZ may want to get on the air first. This would give the network a chance to see how those shows perform and whether to order new seasons. After all, STARZ won’t want to leave the decisions too long otherwise there will be long gaps in the schedules. We know as Outlander fans how those long gaps can get annoying.

This would suggest Hightown or Heels could air in March 2023, pushing Outlander Season 7 into early spring. I suppose this is still technically early 2023, but it’s not as early as we’d like.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on the premiere dates announced of other shows. This will help us figure out when Season 7 could premiere.
