We get to see life in the Continental Army in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 61
Sometimes it feels like Claire and Jamie forget what they were supposed to be doing. After initially making their way to Scotland, it seems they’re settling into life with the Continental Army in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 61.
Jamie has been promoted to colonel in the militia in this chapter. That means a little more food for Claire, but when Jamie brings her a gift, it’s not food. It’s a book.
This chapter goes on with life within the garrison at the moment. Claire ends up talking to some of the wives, while Jamie makes a friend called Daniel Morgan, who hates the British for things similar to what happened to Jamie.
We also get some time with Ian, who is being followed by William. This is all linked to Rachel Hunter.
I’m intrigued by whether we’ll get to see any of this chapter in the adaptation. With how much there is to fit in 16 episodes of Outlander Season 7, and the knowledge that some of the eighth book is being used, I doubt it. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
There is some foreshadowing in this chapter when it comes to Rachel and Ian’s storyline. I’ll get to that to the foreshadowing section.
Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 61.
