Will Andrew Whipp be in Blood of My Blood?
Andrew Whipp is returning to Outlander for Season 7. Is this a sign that he could play Brian Fraser in the prequel, Blood of My Blood?
Our eyes are on anything to do with Outlander, and that includes the prequel series. Titled Blood of My Blood, we know that it is going to tell the story of Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. We know the story that Jamie has told us in the main series, but what is the real story?
It doesn’t sound like much work has started on the prequel series just yet. It was greenlit by STARZ this summer, and that’s all we’ve heard since. Most of the work is focused on Outlander Season 7. However, that doesn’t stop us from looking at who could return from the main story.

Could Andrew Whipp play Brian Fraser in Blood of My Blood?
Whipp played Brian Fraser in Outlander Season 1. He will also return to the series in the upcoming season. You can look at the book story in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood to get an idea as to how that’s possible. That’s not the important thing here.
Getting a guest star back almost 10 years later (it has been nine years since the first season started filming) is impressive. It’s certainly not easy. Actors move onto other projects. Just look at how the show has recast Jenny because Laura Donnelly is no longer available for the role. So, it does open the door to keep the same face for Brian in Blood of My Blood.
Some of this is going to depend on how far back the prequel will be set. There may be a need for a younger actor to take on the role to make the series look realistic. However, if the show wanted to keep the connection to the OG series, having Whipp take on the role of Brian Fraser would be the way to do it.
