Our eyes are on anything Outlander, and that includes the prequel series, Blood of My Blood. When will the prequel series arrive on STARZ?

STARZ has been very quiet about everything Outlander recently. Okay, so we got some casting news for Outlander Season 7, but that’s been it. There’s been nothing about the prequel series and nothing about premiere dates.

So, we took to the list of releases on the premium cable network in November to see if anything was on there. We didn’t expect to see anything, of course, so it’s not that surprising that Blood of My Blood isn’t on the list.

That’s the title of the prequel series, by the way. It will focus on Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie, telling us their love story. Think of it a bit like The Winchesters but hopefully actually sticking to the canon already set!

When will Blood of My Blood come to STARZ?

We’re not actually expecting this series any time soon. Since the announcement that it was happening, nobody has mentioned it. Considering showrunner Matt B. Roberts and EP Maril Davis are currently working on Outlander Season 7, that’s not too surprising. They’ll want to focus on the project already on the go and then move over to the prequel series.

Something that we’re hoping to see soon is an idea of casting. We know the series is about Brian and Ellen, and we’ve already met Brian Fraser on the series. Andrew Whipp played the role, and the man is returning in Season 7. Is this a sign that there will be talks for him to reprise the role in the prequel?

Then the show will need to find its Ellen. Jamie and Jenny’s mother has never been seen on screen, but we know she looks a lot like Brianna. Casting has its work cut out for it.

Blood of My Blood is still in pre-production. Stay tuned for the latest updates, including when it could arrive on STARZ.
