Outlander Book Club: An Echo in the Bone Chapter 57 breakdown

Claire and Jamie meet up with the Hunters again in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 57

While the chapter starts with Claire treating patients, it ends with Claire and Jamie discussing war. Outlander Book 7, Chapter 57 brings us a look how Claire and Jamie find ways to connect and learn about each other, even after years of being together.

This chapter also sees Claire and Jamie reunited with the Hunters. We learn about what happened to the siblings after they left the fort, and how they got away.

Of course, now the rebels need some details. They need to know what’s going on in the British camp, and Jamie has an interesting but dangerous idea. Denny Hunter sees the danger of the game firsthand, but he’ll be okay.

This chapter could be used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on why and how that could be in the adaptation section.

What about foreshadowing? I do think there is a tiny bit of foreshadowing in this chapter. It really is all about the Hunters. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
