Is Graham McTavish returning to House of the Dragon Season 2?
House of the Dragon Season 1 has come to an end. Now it’s time to prepare for Season 2. Will we see more of Graham McTavish in the story?
As Outlander fans, we are always happy to see actors from the show take on other roles. Graham McTavish has been busy recently, with House of the Dragon just one of his latest projects.
He played Ser Harrold Westerling during the first season, the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Staunchly loyal to King Viserys and Princess Rhaenyra, we saw him make some bold choices at the end of the season. After Viserys’s death, there was a question of succession, and Harrold was not happy with the way those talks were going.
Is there a chance we’ll see him return in the second season? Here’s what we know so far.
Could Harrold Westerling return in House of the Dragon Season 2?
We last saw Graham McTavish’s character during the ninth episode. He took off his white cloak, making it clear he did not agree with the decisions the Small Council was making. This was perfect for Ser Criston Cole, who got the position of Lord Commander by the end of the episode.
What we don’t know is what happened to Harrold after he walked out of the Small Council room. He could have been arrested off-screen, but we didn’t get to see anything or even hear of what had happened. We had hoped to see him head to Dragonstone to fight by Rhaenyra’s side, knowing that he supported the idea of her becoming Queen after Viserys’s death.
Despite Otto making it to Dragonstone to offer Rhaenyra terms, Harrold didn’t make it there. This could suggest that he ran into trouble on the road, or maybe he has been arrested after removing his cloak. We need to see McTavish’s character in Season 2 to know the details.
