Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The foreshadowing in this chapter is mostly about John’s way of controlling situations. He likes to be able to control and prevent people from acting recklessly. We see that in the way John gets Dottie’s hair under control.

There’s also this sense that family is going to change. John is a family man, and we see him as the doting uncle by wearing the slippers Dottie made. Think of it like wearing bracelets and necklaces kids make. We do it because we love the children, and that’s why John is wearing these slippers.

However, that family is about to fall apart. Secrets are going to come out, and that puts everything into question for John.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I’ve mentioned this before about John’s chapters, but I don’t think they’re going to be used in Outlander Season 7. It would mean needing time for the whole Beauchamp storyline, and I just don’t think there is time for that. The only way it would work is if things from Book 8 could also be combined. And maybe we’d need some of Book 9 pulled forward.

I wonder if it’s going to be left for Outlander Season 8 should that happen. Or it could be completely written out. We’ll need to wait and see when it comes to this.
