Karen Pirie starring Lauren Lyle is coming to BritBox in October 2022
BritBox continues to bring Outlander fans something to watch during Droughtlander. October sees the release of Karen Pirie starring Lauren Lyle.

Sam Heughan starred in Suspect, but now it’s time to check out another Outlander actor in a series. And this particular actor gets the leading role on the show. It’s all about Lauren Lyle in Karen Pirie—and we agree that it’s a bad time to be called Karen.
When is Karen Pirie on BritBox?
The October releases list is out for BritBox, and we have some exciting news for Lyle fans. Karen Pirie is coming to BritBox on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The best thing is that this isn’t going to be released weekly. We’ll get the entire season in one binge-watch.
There are only three episodes to the season, but this is a lot like Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The episodes are 120 minutes long, so it’s going to feel more like you’re watching six episodes. The three episodes will tell the full story for this particular case, and it opens the door to more cases with Karen in charge.
The first season follows the story of the first novel in the series, A Distant Echo by Val McDermid. Teenage barmaid Rosie Duff is found brutally murdered in a St. Andrew’s graveyard in 1996. Suspicion fell on the students who found her body, but 25 years later, the case comes up one more. What if the three students didn’t do it? What do the three men actually know?
Newly promoted Karen is pulled into the case. She has things a little harder than before as there’s a podcast that has followed the case from the start, and she has to navigate new information, old suspicions, and a true crime following.
