Outlander Book Club: An Echo in the Bone Chapter 31 breakdown

Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing that I see in this post. This is mostly about plot development as far as I can see. There are also a lot of calls to the past, such as even a mention of Mr. Willoughby at one point.

We just get some moments where characters are reunited. Rollo and Ian are back together.

Adapting An Echo in the Bone chapter

I do think that some of this chapter will be used in Outlander Season 7. We need some sort of battle for drama, right? That’s what this chapter offers. It could even take up a fair bit of an episode while we’re in the past.

It’s hard to say, though. I continue to look at this chapter and not really feel like it adds all that much when it comes to the overall story. Sometimes, I do feel like some of the events could be cut without really losing too much. Quiet moments can be moved elsewhere to big plot points that are important overall.
