Claire thinks about the death of the gunner in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 31

Claire and Jamie get some more time together, strengthening their relationship in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 31.

This chapter is a long one. On Audible, it comes up as being two hours long, and I have it playing at 1.65x speed rather than the regular speed. It’s the longest of the book, and apart from one that is a little more than an hour, we’re getting into shorter chapters after this.

As for the chapter itself, it made me remember Outlander Season 3. I remember watching the episode where Claire tries to save the attacker she accidentally killed, thinking that Claire had cared about the death of someone in a book. I think it was this death that I was thinking about at the time. The death happened in the middle of a fight, and it was accidental. Claire carries that guilt with her.

I think this chapter may be used in the TV series. In fact, I have a feeling that it’s going to be a big part of an episode, and I’ll get to my thoughts on why that is in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 31.
