Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian set sail to Scotland in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 30
We head back to the past in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 30. It’s all about the voyage to Scotland.
Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian get on the ship across the Atlantic. There is a moment where Claire fears that she’ll be stranded in the Atlantic alone thanks to something Jamie does, but that’s solved pretty quickly.
How is it solved? We get the details as Jamie relays them to Claire since she was knocked out at one point. It remains one of the annoying parts of getting chapters from Claire’s point of view. We’re told rather than shown far too much.
If this chapter is used in the TV series, then we’ll get to see the action happen. However, I’m not sure there will be time for all of this. I hope there is time for some of it. I’ll share my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
I do get a small sense of foreshadowing in this chapter. There’s a moment when Claire and Jamie are discussing animals, and I can’t help but get a sense of things to come because of this. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 30.
