Brianna almost falls through time in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 27

There are portals through time everywhere, and Brianna finds another one in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 27. At one point, we’re afraid that she’s fallen through time.

Things all start with her going to work, and it’s very clear that the men don’t respect her. They’re men of the 1980s. Of course they have little respect for a woman, especially one who is above them when it comes to positions.

So, they decide to play a “prank” on Bree by locking her in the tunnels in darkness. She’s left fumbling her way around, and that’s when she almost falls through time. By the end of the chapter, we learn she didn’t, but it was a scary moment for a while.

This chapter certainly foreshadows a few things in the coming book and the next one. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I really want to see this chapter used in the TV series. We need to get that reminder that while women could work, they weren’t all that accepted outside of what was considered a woman’s job. Bree has put herself in a man’s position, and the men don’t like that. Fragile men. That’s all I’ll say.

Let’s dive into An Echo in the Bone Chapter 27.
