Blood of My Blood is not coming in September 2022

The Outlander prequel, Blood of My Blood, is in the works. The bad news is we have to wait for it. How long will the wait be?

There is no way we ever expected Blood of My Blood to come out in September. STARZ only just recently confirmed that the Outlander prequel series is in the works. We also got to know that it would be about Jamie’s parents.

Now all eyes are on when this prequel could arrive. Will we get to see it in 2022? What about 2023? Here’s a look at hopes for the series.

When will Blood of My Blood come to STARZ?

Don’t expect the series in 2022 at all. If it does happen in 2023, we’re likely looking at the end of the year. This, like its parent show Outlander, will take a long time to film and get through post-production. Filming hasn’t even started yet.

There has been some controversy over the series. STARZ announced that Diana Gabaldon would be a consulting producer on the series, but she later confirmed that she hadn’t been asked to be in this role. It looks like she wasn’t asked before the release went out.

With the story being about Brian and Ellen Fraser, Gabaldon will need to be involved in some way. After all, her prequel novel isn’t out yet. It’s not even the one she’s mostly working on as Outlander Book 10 took over, so the EPs will want to learn more about the couple from her.

This is a series we’re keeping a close eye on. It’s not clear when it could arrive, but we’re hoping for the next Droughtlander. As long as it doesn’t affect Season 8, we’re happy. We’re still waiting for that renewal news.
