Claire helps Jamie and Ian in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 3

Claire needs to tend to Jamie’s injuries in Outlander Book 7, Chapter 3. When it comes to Ian, she needs to help him emotionally.

This chapter picks straight up off the back of the previous one. Ian has killed Murdina Bug, and it’s clear that there will be consequences to his actions. However, it’s not like Murdina’s death was a pure accident. Ian had to kill her after she shot at Jamie.

That’s where the chapter starts. Claire needs to see what Jamie’s injury is. How serious is it both to his life and his manhood? After that, she’s able to help Ian deal with the emotional baggage of his actions.

I love that we get to see Claire work both physically and emotionally in this chapter. It also brings us some foreshadowing of the events in the next chapter.

Will it be used in the TV series? This will depend on how much of the previous chapter is used. I do hope we at least see Ian’s storyline as that will be important for character development.
