HBO has been extremely quiet about The Nevers Season 1, Part 2. We know it’s not coming n August, but when can we expect the six episodes to begin?
In April 2021, HBO gave us something new to get through a bit of Droughtlander. It was all about The Nevers starring Outlander‘s Laura Donnelly. Only six episodes of the first season aired, and we’ve waited for the second half of the season since then.
Those six episodes have been filmed. They’ve also likely completed post-production by this point. We’re now just waiting for HBO to give the episodes a release date. The bad news is that release date is not going to be in August, which wasn’t all too surprising.
When will The Nevers Season 1, Part 2 come to HBO?
August was always going to be an unlikely month. HBO really only brings one big show at a time, and House of the Dragon will premiere on Sunday, Aug. 21. There are 10 episodes to the series, and we likely won’t see anything else new arrive during that time period. We’re certainly not expecting The Nevers, even though it could perform well in the hour after House of the Dragon
Instead, we’ll likely need to wait until after the Game of Thrones prequel. The earliest we’re looking at it premiere now is the end of October. It would be a good show to bring during Halloween.
The bad news is the first season didn’t quite get the attention HBO would have wanted. It just happened that the six episodes had already been ordered so they needed to be made and will now need to air. HBO will be looking for the best time of year for a show that didn’t perform too well in the ratings. We’ll be sure to let you know about the release as soon as we have it.
We are concerned about the future of this series, though. The delay is going to lead to a lot of people not returning to watch the next episodes, which suggests the show will be a one-and-done series.
The Nevers Season 1 is available to stream on HBO and HBO Max.
