Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Brianna talking about the night before. Bonnet wanted her to sleep in the same bed as him, and it had to be wrapped in his arms. He claims it’s for warmth, but it’s clear that he doesn’t trust Brianna not to do something while on the ship.

During the day, Bree gets to go down to the cargo hold so she can see Josh. He is with a lot of other slaves, and she learns that they are all being well-fed. It’s clear that this isn’t out of Bonnet’s goodwill. He needs to keep the slaves well-fed so they can be sold for a good price later on.

Bree isn’t staying in the cargo hold, though. She will remain with Bonnet in his bed. This is only because she can then get all the information she needs if there is ever a chance to escape. She needs to be able to hear what’s going on.

There are memories of Bonnet raping her in this chapter. This all comes up when “LeRoi” annoys her in bed. We also see Bree comparing Bonnet and Roger again in this chapter. It’s not the first time she’s done this when in danger. I do get why some people don’t really like Bree at times. I love her, but in this scene, I do want to slap some sense into her. This is not the time to think about Roger.
