Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I don’t really see any foreshadowing in this chapter. However, it is interesting that as Roger starts to wonder if he should be ordained, he has something that pulls him away from that. He would always choose his wife over his career, and that’s something that has been a constant for a while. He went through the stones for Brianna!

The chapter is mostly about plot development, though. Roger and Jamie need to head out to find Brianna.

Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter

The chapter wasn’t used for the TV series. Roger’s ordination wasn’t combined with Stephen Bonnet’s abduction of Bree. This was simply due to the way TV shows needed to work with guest stars. There was a risk that Ed Speleers might not be available for Outlander Season 6, so the producers opted to bring that storyline forward.

It wasn’t time to tell Roger’s story of becoming in minister, though. Roger needed to go through everything at the Ridge with the fisherfolk to realize his calling there.

I’m intrigued by how this chapter could be used in the series. After all, Roger is on his way to Edenton to be ordained, but he’s traveling with Bree and Jemmy right now. What will the drama be in Edenton?
