Brianna learns the gold is gone in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 99
We’re back at River Run during Outlander Book 6, Chapter 99. It’s a chance to see more of Jemmy as he grows up and is influenced by what he sees and hears around him. This is also a chance to set up the rest of the gold storyline.
Up to this point in the book, we knew that the gold was in danger. Someone wanted it, and that meant figuring out where Jocasta had hidden it. Well, it turns out that someone has found it, and Duncan has no idea who that someone is. There’s a good chance this is connected to a certain body slave who has disappeared.
I love how there has been this story slowly drawn out. It wasn’t dragged along, with parts of the story only coming up now and then. It’s all about to come to a head, and it involves people we’ve already met. There isn’t really much in the way of foreshadowing in the chapter, except for a mention of a certain pregnancy.
The chapter hasn’t been used in the TV series. I’m not sure just how much of this storyline will be included. I think some of it will, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 99.
