Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 98 breakdown

Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There isn’t that much foreshadowing in the chapter. However, I guess there is something involving Tom and what’s to come in An Echo in the Bone in this chapter. Claire wonders if Tom will be executed, and we’re left to believe that will happen. Of course, they’re just as surprised as we are when he shows up in the next book.

We also have that reminder that Malva’s murder still needs to be solved. Who did it? That’s still to come.

Adapting A Breath of Snow and Ashes chapter

With Outlander Season 6 ending with Claire getting to jail, it’s not surprising to say that this chapter hasn’t been used in the TV series just yet. However, I do expect some of it to be used. We need to see a conversation between Jamie and Claire as to what will happen to Tom and making sure that Ian wasn’t the one to kill Malva.

It doesn’t have to take up a lot of time. We just need a 10-minute scene or so to see the two reconnect after this threat of the trial.
