Denzell Hunter appears in An Echo in the Bone, and he will be in Outlander Season 7. What do we know about the character so far?

Outlander has found its Hunters, and one of them is Denzell Hunter. Well, that’s Dr. Denzell Hunter. The title should give away the connection he has to a certain character in the story.

He initially appears in An Echo in the Bone. He then turns up again in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. While not as prominent as his sister, Rachel, he is still important to the story. He is connected to Adult William.

Who is Denzell Hunter in Outlander Season 7?

Denzell, also known as Denny, is a Quaker. He and his sister are expelled from their meeting due to Denny’s decision to fight on the American side of the Revolutionary War. He’s not actually fighting and is instead the Army surgeon. However, the Quakers had decided to follow the British, and they’re not happy that some Quakers prayed and realized the best option was the American side.

Denzell initially comes into contact with Adult William. This later becomes important as Ian Murray is the one who turns to the Hunters for William’s help. This starts the story between Ian and Rachel. It also starts the story between Denzell and Dorothea Grey, Hal Grey’s daughter. Denny even treats Lord John Grey at one point in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.

Despite being a man, Denny does listen to Claire’s advice when it comes to medical treatments. He respects her as a doctor despite her being a woman, and it starts a positive professional relationship between the two. Denny even assists Claire in two surgeries involving ether, and he is excited to learn how to use it for his own surgeries.
