Tom Christie comes to save Claire in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 97

We finally find out why Tom helped Claire in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 97. It’s also time to see what he is willing to do to make sure she’s safe.

There have been a lot of questions about Tom up to this point in the story. He is trouble, but he is also complicated. It was hard not to scratch your head in confusion about why he was helping Claire and Jamie considering it was his daughter who had been murdered.

Well, everything comes out in this chapter. Jamie had already guess that Tom was in love with Claire, and now we get the confirmation. We also find out more about Malva’s birth and paternity, something that had been hinted at earlier in the book. Jamie was right to question the math.

This chapter hasn’t yet been used in the series, but I fully expect it to be. I’ll get to my thoughts on the matter in the adaptation section.

There’s not too much in the way of foreshadowing, though. This chapter simply wraps up the storyline. The only foreshadowing is that the real murderer is still out there, but who is it?
