There were some excellent moments throughout Outlander Season 6. One of them stands out the most. Here’s what it is, and why we’ve picked it.
With so many storylines pulled straight from the book, there’s no denying that Outlander Season 6 is one of the strongest seasons. We got to see Fraser’s Ridge grow, but not necessarily in the way that Jamie and Claire had imagined.
The two faced their own problems, especially thanks to a certain member of the Christie family. This Christie family member did lead to us getting the best moment throughout the entire season.
Claire knows Jamie didn’t have an affair in Outlander Season 6
The moment is one of the best Claire and Jamie moments of the entire series. We’re heading to Outlander Season 6, Episode 6, when Malva claims that Jamie is the father of her unborn baby. Malva has information that suggests it could be true, but deep down, Claire knows the truth.
We get a moment in the stables. Claire questions everything. Did she come to the past for one-sided love? Did she put Bree, Roger, and Jemmy at risk for nothing? She acted selfishly, and she wonders whether it was all in vain.
Jamie barely says a word, but there’s a moment when you can see he’s visibly relieved. It’s the moment Claire notes that she believes Jamie is telling the truth. He didn’t have an affair.
What makes her realize that? It’s that Jamie would claim the child if there was a chance it was his. He would do the right thing for the baby regardless of how the child came about. Since he didn’t claim the child, Claire knows that Malva is lying.
We see something that could have broken the two of them apart make them that little bit stronger. Claire knows her husband well. She’s been with a man who had affairs—or at least, it looks like Frank had affairs—but she knows Jamie wouldn’t do that. He’s too honorable not to claim a child that could be his.
If you ever want to see that Claire and Jamie do still love each other, this is the moment for that.
