Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Brianna packing bags to leave for Edenton. She’s looking for Roger’s silk stockings, and it leads to Roger showing just how little he sometimes thinks. He just like any stereotypical man at times. He’s left the silk stockings at the creek where he went fishing in them after church!

Roger does question whether he needs to go or not. Is this a good time? He needs to be here to help the people grieve Malva. They still haven’t found the murderer.

Bree won’t let Roger not go. In fact, Jamie and Claire have also made it clear that Roger needs to be fully ordained. That’s the only thing he can do right now. There is nothing left for him at Fraser’s Ridge without being fully ordained.

However, Bree is also questioning going. She doesn’t want to leave her parents alone. However, she also struggles to be around potential murderers. One of those she thinks about is Young Ian. She doesn’t think Ian would do it, but we know that she’s realized she doesn’t necessarily know people all that well.

At the end of the chapter, Jemmy and Aiden break one of the pipes Bree has made for the underground heating. She gets angry about it, and she realizes that they need to leave for Edenton. They need away from this.

The very end is just a paragraph with Claire’s thoughts. She wonders if Bree and Roger will be okay, but Jamie doesn’t say they definitely will be. He just assumes they’ll be fine.
