Brianna gets ready to leave for Edenton in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 86
With rumors circulating around Fraser’s Ridge, Brianna has second thoughts about leaving for Edenton in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 86. It’s clear she needs to leave, and so does Roger.
The time has come for ordination. Roger needs to head out to Edenton for that, and he wants his wife with him. That’s despite the fact that the Presbyterians aren’t going to be happy that he has a Catholic wife. He’s not going to ask her to convert. That’s something he’s already made clear.
However, is now the best time? It’s something both Roger and Bree aren’t sure about. There’s just so much happening in the wake of Malva’s murder. It’s clear that this is foreshadowing something that is about to come. It won’t take long for people to take advantage of Roger not being there to help keep the fisherfolk calm. I love how we see that Roger has an important role on the Ridge to balance out Jamie with his Ardsmuir men.
I’ll get to the foreshadowing in that part of the section. There is also the adaptation section, and I’ll get to my thoughts on how this chapter wasn’t really used in that part of the post.
Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 86.
